"Making good men better"

What is Freemasonry?

Freemasonry is a fraternity that traces its origins to the local fraternities of stonemasons in the Middle Ages. Its members are known as Freemasons. The fraternity is dedicated to the brotherhood of man and the person improvement of its members. Freemasonry teaches moral lessons through the use of symbolism taken from stonemasonry, and its members are expected to adhere to high moral standards and to practice charity and goodwill. The fraternity has a set of moral and ethical values that are expressed in the "Three Greats Lights" of Freemasonry which are the Volume of the Sacred Law, the Square and the Compasses. Freemasonry is not a religion, but it does require its members to have a belief in a Supreme Being.
